Yevhenii Pedachenko

Member of the Board, Ukrainian Neurosurgical Association; Director of the Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Yevhenii Pedachenko is an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the World Academy of Neurosurgery (WANS), Doctor of Medicine, Professor. Honored Scientist of Ukraine, winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology.

Yevhenii Pedachenko was the Vice President of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (2013 – 2017), Chief Neurosurgeon of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (1994 – 2017), Chairman of the Scientific Medical Council of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (1994 – 2002), Chairman of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine for Clinical Medicine (surgical diseases) (2000 – 2004). A member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (the USA) and the European Association of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (Eurospine), a member of the Royal Society of Surgeons (the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons) (the USA). Academician of the Polish Medical Academy and Albert Schweitzer World Academy of Medicine.

Recognized as one of the founders of the so-called outpatient neurosurgery. Has been awarded a large gold medal of the Albert Schweitzer World Academy of Medicine for facilitating the development of clinical medicine.

A world-renowned neurosurgeon. Invited surgeon in foreign clinics (Austria, Kuwait, Libya, etc.), a lecturer of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies and the International Association of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (ISMISS) (in 50+ countries). Member of the editorial boards of many scientific journals (Ukraine, USA).

One of the founders of modern minimally invasive spinal neurosurgery in Ukraine. Main fields of scientific research and practical activity: traumatic brain injuries, minimally invasive spinal neurosurgery (scientific justification, development and implementation of puncture and endoscopic interventions, development of outpatient neurosurgery), scientific justification for neurosurgical development in Ukraine, development of standards and clinical protocols for diagnosis and treatment in neurosurgical pathology, history of neurosurgery development in Ukraine.

Authored 61 monographs and workbooks, 650+ research papers, 49 inventions and patents. Has taught 12 Doctors of Medicine and 39 Ph.D. (Medicine) graduates.
